What is Art?

In my eyes art is a non-violent way to express yourself. Yes, it may effect someone mentally but not physically. Its basically a silent protest or even just to do it for your enjoyment and passion for it. It is another way to communicate with others if you dont know how to through a civil conversation. Art should be our new way of communicating to eachother so we can actually have the feeling of art in C.A.T., because we are an art and technology school. Art can be what ever you want it to, not saying this because its common but its true because for the simple fact, that i think shoes are pieces of art. For example, a set of shoes is not complete unless it has both shoes, and if it doesnt than its not. to be more specific art has to be something that is complete because you can't start somthing and then get so tired of it that you leave like it is, incomple, and call it art. Now thats not art! The grafitti that they say is vanalism, that's art to me. The police don't like it because sometimes the meaning of the Grafiti is towards them because of what they did wrong. that is what art is to me, it has to mean something strong enough.
When it comes to moods, symbols, and metaphors playing a role in art, it has a significant amount of priorty in it, because it incorperates it in the art. Even if it’s a small stroke or a dot, it can mean so much, or even represent something. The moods part of the art piece is how they creativeely express themselves. Symbols can be the pieces that you put together. For example, letters or little pictures you put together that for a big picture. Metaphors can either be incorporated in the art, or it can be made up off of someones opininon. Art is one of the most broadest subjects and any can be an artist. All you need is to have the faith and passion that goes into art.
Art plays somewhat of a big part in my life but not as much as family and God. But it is in my culture and even in myself because I cherish music a lot and I express myself through different types of art. For example I express myself through music, poetry, drawings, or even quilts. I use art a lot to express myself and how I feel and to show another side of me. I pput up this tough side of me because I don’t take any bullshit from anyone, and that is the side that majority of people see in me. But what they really don’t know is that I express myself through different types of art because in my culture, dance is even a way to express yourself, and is a form of art. I would have to say that art is something I incorporate into my life on a daily basis.
My whole process of trying to define art in my perspective is basically me freely expressing myself. I would even consider say that this essay I just created is a piece of art because I just express myself freely and it is something that I put thought inot it and I have a passion for what I just wrote

Benchmark #1

  1. Who are the main players in Davis' story?
  2. What happened when he was arrested, and what has happened since?
  3. Where are we? What scenery or backdrops are present in Davis' story?
  4. Why is he still incarcerated? What evidence exists that might prove his innocence?
  5. Which argument against capital punishment does Davis' case exemplify?

  1. The main players are of course Troy Davis, the homeless man, the victim Mark Mac Phail, President Jimmy Carter, Georgia Congressman John Lewis and 250,000 other supporters.
  2. He was already pin pointed for the murder of the police officer when all he was doing was going to the aid of the homeless man. He was supposed to get executed but the governor sent a request to stop it, so he's not getting executed and not pretty sure if he is anytime soon.
  3. We are in the lethal injection room and the jail cell that he is assigned to.
  4. He is still incarcerated because the governor stopped it and he might be proven guilty because something they overlooked and probably missed.
  5. I'm not really sure at this point because i haven't explored capital punishment.

Webbies

  1. the advertisement stands out and what they are trying to sell to the audience catches my attention because its big and bold.
  2. i think it was nominated because its interesting and probably got good reviews and alot of feed back.

What is a Blog?...

  1. What stood out to me was how someone can talk so much about a blog. i guess its because i dont really pay attention to it unless its relevant to me at the moment.
  2. They are personal published documents that are posted to where everyone can see them and contains the date, sources, and etc.
  3. Web pages claim authority and blogs you can speak what ever is on your mind.
  4. It empowers your voice because you get to speak your mind and freely instead of having to watch what you say whenever your around a certain crowd.
  5. so we can see our growth over the years and there all in one place and can be at one point valuable to someone else. And it can help others shape their opinions and thoughts.
  6. it helps build a starting foundation on something that you strongly believe in. or even as simple as just communicating about things in general that is happening in the world.
